SnapSpend · Last updated July 29, 2026
In short: SnapSpend runs entirely on your phone. It doesn't have a server, doesn't collect analytics, and doesn't send your data anywhere. Everything below explains exactly what the app touches and why.

Who this policy covers

SnapSpend is an expense-tracking app developed by an individual developer (Harsh). This policy explains what data the app accesses on your device, how it's used, and what control you have over it.

What SnapSpend accesses

When you choose to log an expense from a payment screenshot, SnapSpend asks for access to your photo library so you can pick the screenshot yourself. The app never browses your photos on its own — it only reads the specific image you select.

SnapSpend does not request camera or microphone access.

How that data is processed

The screenshot you pick is read using on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit, running locally on your phone) to pull out details like amount, merchant, and date. This recognition happens entirely on your device — the image is never uploaded anywhere.

Where your data is stored

Expenses, categories, budgets, and settings you enter are stored locally on your device only. SnapSpend has no backend server and makes no network requests, so this data is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

If your device has Android's own backup feature turned on, your phone's operating system may include SnapSpend's local data in your personal Google account backup, the same way it backs up other apps. That backup is controlled by Android and your Google account settings, not by SnapSpend directly.

Your control over your data

Third parties

SnapSpend does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party. The only processing library involved is Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition, which runs locally and does not send data off your device.

Children's privacy

SnapSpend is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age — since the app doesn't collect or transmit data in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of SnapSpend adds an optional backup or sync feature — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
